Zoey is currently working on two collaborative dance projects. Was it the Wind began in workshop at the Oregon Fringe Festival. This piece explore listening and our relationship to truth and is being created in collaboration with Erin Bednarz’s sound design.
JEFFREY GILLESPIE FOR THE ASHLAND DAILY TIDINGS: “Movement was reminiscent of work of Twlya Tharp, White Bird and others, but outside of that, the process seemed fairly original in concept and execution. Despite a complicated set of circumstances, once the downpour lifted somewhat to a steady drizzle and the performance began to wind down, I was left feeling relaxed, contemplative, and intrigued.” View full video of the OFF performance here.
Zoey is also in beginning stages to develop a piece that tracks the stories of several wilderness fire fighters in Southern Oregon and Northern California. This piece uses dance to explore the line between creation and destruction and encourages audience to consider their place in the collective journey towards sustainability.
